sigh ill take this one guys.....
first you want to know what your going to do wan what you want animated...nothing to big cuz after all its just a small animated gif.
then you draw out what you want to do and figure out hat you want to animate. for example if you had a little pic of super man and you wanted his cape to flutter in the wind then you would take the original pic save it and alter his cape save it and do this 3-4-5 how every many times you want it to look different...keep in mind that it'll be looped, then you get a gif animater or do it in photoshop and compile the 3-4-5 pics you have in order then vwalla... once you have them in order and all setup, its like a flip book, but on computer you can loop it,i used gif animators since i dont know how todo it in photoshop, just goto www.hotfiles.com and look up gif animators or something these are self explanitory and i hope i dont have to explain it if your confused lemme summarize for you.
a animate gif is simply a pic shown 3-4-5 or more times with alterations to make it look as if it is moving the magiccomes from the computer where it shows the 3-4-5-or mor pics in succession to make it look animated. hmm in short its animation look how traditional artists do animation same thing just simpler. hehe hope i was some help and not a totl confuser hehe good luck its really easy to figure out |

Check out Synj's site or do a search on him. In several threads he describes what programs he uses. I believe they are LightWave & Freehand. I've used PhotoShop in conjunction with Freehand and took the individual layers in PS and dropped them into FH. What I've created however, pales in comparison to Sir Synj...
Sorry for the short reply. Wife's tapping her foot...
Hope that helps & good luck!

bj: If you have PS 5.5, look for Imageready under the same directory, under start->programs->adobe .
Or click the button at the VERY bottom of the tools palette in PS.
If you have PS 6, Imageready has disappeared. It has been integrated into PS 6. |

The original gif animation software is gif construction set by Alchemy Mindworks you can still get it at http://www.mindworkshop.com it is shareware.
It can even take an .AVI and convert it to an animated gif automatically. Or be confined to a palette of colors.
