I've been working on symbols for my mod a while now. I prolly went threw 15 different versions, and I mean 15 completely different versions. I like how this last version has been looking.

For the team symbols, it's the classic "Fire and Ice". Red vs Blue. I don't have the time to rework a new color theme into id's textures at the moment.

Let me know what you all think. The image I have here has been shrunk down to 25% of the actual size. Of course this symbol is on layers, so I can slap it on the textures we use for the mod. Dirty them up or add other effects. But the basic layout is here.

Thanks for any comments/suggestions.

[edit]They are sopuse to have a kind of "Sporty/fast" feel to it.[edit]

In my honest opinion. I think you should get rid of the 3d effect on the rings. Just a solid ring of red or blue and an ellipse within. Then, you can outline this layer in lack, yellow, etc, and that'll give a very nice look to it. And for the symbols in the middle..... ice kind of looks like the fire one. So, hrmm... perhaps make it realistic and so forth. If you need clarification or have no idea what the hell i'm talking about, please don't hesitate to contact me for clarification.

I think I see what you are speaking. Thanks, I'll throw up another variation or two.

They look too similar. Maybe getting rid of the outline and turning them would help? Make the icicle point down and have the fire point up.

So...which part of "get out of town freak" weren't you clear on, John?

-EviLToYLeT getting rid of the 3D effect was a good idea. Thanks. I like the flatened look of them now. And the outline works very well too, thanks again.

-A.Buttle Thanks for the idea to try them up and down. I think that works well also. I still like the outlines for the ice and fire, so I kept them. I decided that showing that actual ice and fire image doesn't show to good when put on top of textures. I felt keeping the outline was ok.

Thanks for your comments guys. Hope'n for some more now on the new layout. Thanks for any other comments added.

Heres the updated version. Anyone else wana throw me some good'ol crit'n? Think it's a good finished layout? Let me know, thanks.

Looking good! Great improvement. But hrmmmm.. a little odd having one symbol upside down while the other straight up.(then again it could just refer to opposite sides ) But anyawy, vast improvement. You still may want to consider redoing the symbol for ice as it's a little bit similar to the fire one. I think a good one would be asnowball with some little snow particles behind it. Hope you get what I mean. Anyway, once again, great job.

These look alot better!
Actually, I'd leave the ice one alone, I got it right away that it was an icecycle by the color and the hard edge shape. The fire, however, I would make it's outline more curved. Then it would stand out as fire more and not look like the ice icon.

I think you should use a snowflake for ice and a sun with rays coming off it for fire. Just an idea. I like the new frames you have around them though, much improved.

Clockwork is right. Make the flame more curvy and you might want to add a flicker or two. Right now it looks the same as the ice symbol only red.
