Well this is a comic book character I had to create that my art teacher wants me to paint on one of the walls in the classroom. I am currently in a begginer's drawing class if that helps any. Please let me know what you think of it. How does it look? Anything need to be added or fixed up?
Ok well here he is again only I changed what his power looked like and a few things here and there like the rips in the shirt and the feet. Let me know how it looks now? Oh also what that is glowing out from him is his Chi so it really won't cause a change in light in the background.

Cool, that'd look cool on a wall. Two of my teachers want me to paint stuff on their walls. I keep saying I'll get back to them, but I never do. Haha, suckers. |

His head doesn't seemed to be aligned properly with the rest of his body. could be just my bad eyes though. One thing that kind of confuses me is the enveloping lightning.... if that happened....... there wouldn't be such dark shadows... but oh well, all a matter of style. And, make sure that you can't be held responsible for the wall before you start painting on it. |

congrats on the request, pat yourself on the back
hm. let me suggest a few things: his feet look too small for the rest of his body, some of the firey/glowy stuff seems to be heading in no particular direction and it makes the image seem too busy for its own good. add a little more outline/shadow to his left knee area, too, to balance the light and dark a lil'.

Cool. The pose certainly does have some fun about it. Try to make the rips in the clothing a little bit more life like. Also to, before you go painting walls and things you might like to try out the paintbrushes you are going to use. I found that I had some difficulties going from fine line art works to paintbrushes. You really do need to get a grasp of the limitations of the two different mediums. Generally, unless you have very fine brushes and alot of patience, your 'sketch' image will need to have very thick lines. Try to draw and image with this in mind. Is it going to be in colour or black and white.

Oh and also just so you know he is supplying me with acrylic paint(still need to ask about fleshtones) and he has all the tools I will need for it. He is grading me on this project on anatomy too.
I don't know if this makes any difference but it is a begginer's drawing class. |

hiyo! guess what? quit saying beginners drawing class. now for the crit:
legs. that one on the left? (our left) its weird. try getting into this sort of pose urself and u will see... actually, find a nice big full length mirror, get into a similar position and see how it actually would look. this is the best way to figure out how everything should look. and change those shoes
i think its great tho, i like that facial expression! i do agree that the fire/lightning stuff is a little too confusing tho. good job!
