This is the new mascot for gamingnews.net. They wanted a color version, so here is my attempt. This pic was kinda hard for me to do. By the way, for the "sensitive" artists.. she is crying on the inside.

Edit: Updated the pic.

Looks good chapel I like the coloring alot the only thing i find strange is with the hair. Just doesn't seem like enough hair for the size of the head.

*nod* i like i like! for the stretch marks, I think you need a little shading near her left boob. otherwise looks great, just smooth out the colors and your good to go... might want to yell at whoever drew that in the first place cuz her eyebrows n all are funny.

EviLToYLeT: I liked the eyebrows. I think it looks very stylized. Maybe just me. I already sent this in, so I probably won't be making any changes to it.

aNoah: nice Land Warrior pic you are working on. By the way, I was just making fun of the 20 other posts on "sensitive pics".

Woah! I like this a LOT.
te colours are working a lot better than they have been in the past. the contrast between hard shadows and soft transitions in the skin is working well.
I like the metal texture in places, the bits in the legs need to be worked up a bit more, I think the technique you're using is good but the shapes need to be broken up more in the legs. in the metal bit's on the arms you have made things look very nice because you can't see that it's been done with a PS brush. in the legs it just looks like a scribble of brush strokes.
Another things is that you could hae a few more cast shaddows in there. you've got them happening in a lot of places and I think it is adding greatly to the image, but there could still be more.
places like the straps on her legs, the gold bolt things on her thigh pads, where her right arm meets the shoulder pad thing, maybe even the blue round thing on her stomach, could all have shaddows. it's one of the things that makes it look more like a three dimensional object and less like some two dimensional coloured shapes.

but yeah. this is so good that I'm not even going to bother doing one of my own

Thanks Rin that is a big compliment(or an excuse not to do your own version), but I'll take it as a compliment.

I know what you mean by the cast shadows. I totally overlooked some of the places you mentioned. I may just go back and fix those. I might fix the legs too.

Hehe it's a bit of both . I don't have the time to do one atm, but even if I did I think I'd refrain. I'd have a hard time showing you up .

Here is an inked version. I'm not too thrilled about the ink treatment it received. Maybe A. Mounts will be better.

I think your colours work beter with whatever you had in the first one. (is it the pencils?).

Darkmoon-
I think the thread where the pencils were posted on the Top cow board was http://www.topcow.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=5614

if it doesn't work I can send you the pencils

Looks great, Chapel! The colors and shading are good, but the armor piece on her thigh looks a little scribbly. (like that? I invented a new word!) The hair is also a little bit rough. maybe have the lines flow with the hair? Awesome job, Chapel!

Thanks for the comments guys.

Rin: the first one is the pencils.

Darkmoon: When you finally get the pencils/inks please don't post your version here. I really don't want this to turn into a "30 variations" post. Thanks

Nex: I didn't use the burn tool. If you are refering to the hair I used a yellow screen airbrush. When I used the same color it started to come out pink.

By the way, I touched up the pic just a little. I tried to fix the legs and added a few hints of shadows to it.

Well... looks like a few of you liked the inked version better, so I corrected the colors under neath that version also.

This is the most replies I've ever received. I feel special. (course half of them are me, but oh well)

Very pretty!
Best yet. This one is looking real good.

The hard cut shadow under her raised arm strikes me as differant from the rest. While you do use hard cuts, the rest are a little more gradiented and the shadow doesn't follow the arm correctly.

The inks help the pencils. They weren't quite as steady or as solid . Though his lines got a little thick, in some areas, I think.
