Well, as some of you might have guessed already... I like dragons I like them a lot. They make a very interesting picture. This one was just a profile study, so there's nothing too thrilling about it. Oh well, I rather like it.

Crit if you like (kindly). And I know the contrast's a bit high, but I like it that way.

I like this very much. I'm not sure if this was the look you were going for but this looks like a pretty cute dragon. A nice change from the usual fire breathing, kill the village, bastards that you usually see. I'd love to see the entire dragon, or a background to go with it. Nice work!

Hey that is looking cool and shiny. I like where you are gong. Um the only thing I would work on is the chest lumps that wrap under his belly. they are two flat looking on the edge. Here is what I am talking about.

It is not that great but I think the point gets across.

well ive seen 3 of your dragons and i think there are some anatomy problems in all. They are all really good looking but they probably would break if they tried to move...

Very nicely done. I agree with the previous post in that the neck looks like it could do with some work. Otherwise I like the textures although it does feel that you've dodged and burned it a little bit too much.

Aheheheheh......don't sweat the anatomy! Remember, you are drawing a giant flying lizard thats the size of a few city buses. The whole lot of them would be crushed under thier own weight! I think here, style is much more important than function, and this design has that style. (just my 2 cents)

I do agree about those scales on the underbelly, I didn't notice myself but now that I am looking they could be rounded out a little?

Well, some of you people seem to have trouble with the style in which I draw my dragons... and that's fine. It's your own opinion, and you're entitled to it. Although I'd like to point out the fact that these creatures are NOT real and everyone sees them in their own unique way. This is the way that I see them. And if you people think it looks like a chicken or a turkey, then I dunno what the hell is going on in your head, but I'm not going to try to argue with you, cuz I'm not gonna win.

Blitz: I see the problem with the neck and I'll see what I can do about that. Thanks for the crit.

Tiger Eaten: Thanks a lot

I don't agree with you blitz the neck looks fine . I don't see a depth problem there I think maybe the outer wings needs to look a little farther away from the main body and neck...that is what is making the neck look flat..not the neck itself.

I like it, it's pretty good. And hey guys, actually there are creatures with big heads and thin necks in the realm. So why crit it in a way of right or wrong? We don't even get a clue of what size or age this dragon is. Sure, it looks like the cuter dragon...still it could be poisonous...

One thing I'd crit though is the overall color appearance. You may improve the pic by adding subtle variances in color.

just my 2 pfennig...

I think everyone missed the point Blitz was trying to make. Although I think the neck could be a bit thicker, that's not what he was pointing out.

Look at the neck ribs. It looks like the neck was cut out with an exacto knife. Notice the rounded ribs on Blitz's version.

Anyway my two cents.

It looks like a baby, that would explain the large eyes and the skinny neck.

did I get that part right?

Periadam --

i love your dragons!!! i really like the way you draw; the heavy contrast, smooooth textures, and just the over all style of the way you draw i like! anatomy problems... puh, don't worry about it. it's kind of like saying "hey, the skeleton's alright, but i don't think he'd be able to move because his muscles aren't big enough" perhaps it was magically animated? same goes for anything else -- Great work, Periadam and keep going at it!

It's not so much a baby as just a juvenile, but it's definitely not one of the old bloodthirsty killer types....yet.

Ok, so I fixed the neck up a bit, I didn't make it any thicker, cuz that would've taken too long and I don't have a whole lot of time now. I thought that colour changing idea was really good, so I added a some blue and green. That needs to be played with a bit more, but I think I have the general idea here. Also I thought the saturation was a little high so I lowered that.

Please comment
