Hi! Here is one a portrait I'll give to my friend tomorrow. Pencil/charcoal mixed. Mostly on pencil. There are lots of folds on my paper after fixative handled... I scanned this as 150 dpi. Took about two hours at last night.

What do you think? Please, give some feedback.

hey, that s really great yourmum
the rendering is very well done

a few critics :
his right eyelid seems to be a little low (maybe it was like that on the reference, don t know),
the front teeth look all with the same size, that s a bit strange
Also, the left colar looks a little weird, as if the colar had been returned back

his fronthead should be a little more shaded on the parts where the hair comes in front of, no ? (maybe it is already , my monitors settings are not very good...)

by the way it looks very cool, i like it very much

hope what I said make sense and will help you
(sorry for the bad english )

bye,
toast

looks really nice yourmum. I see a lot of improvement on both pen-technique and proportions form all those faces you've done. If I'm going to be picky, the left eyelid is a bit low, so it it seems like one eye is about to fall a sleep, but nothing major...so don't bother about it. Also, the teeth seems to follow the upper lips too much so it doesn't seem like they are behind the lips. Maybe because that it seem like that white little dot on the left side is a tooth and not inside his mouth ?!? Well, I don't know..sorry for being so little spesific. Anyway, nice work.

Thanks for replies!

toast!: Thanks, dude! I agree with you about some very unusual details on my picture. I think this was very challenging drawing because of quite poor reference photo. I show you the reference. I hope that it gives you an idea. And collar is strange. Yes. You can see the difference from the reference. Thanks anyway. I appreciate these comments and crits.

Joachim: Thank you, too! I have to say same words for you as I told before about reference. I agree... I would have done some points better. Nothing is perfect. That's it.

Yep. Here is my reference. This isn't too sharp. I have practices portrait drawing a month or something. Last two weeks seriously and very intensively. Actually I haven't tried this before. Uhh... I think I missed the collar thing. I see it now. Hehe... Anyway, here it is.

The Finnish Flash!
It's really good, recognized without seeing the reference pic.
