Taking Rinaldo's lead, I started up another topic with this image. I posted this in the old post but noticed there where no replies. I'll assume that it's because the post was on a different page deep into the original post by vortx. Any other possibility is too depressing to consider. Enjoy and fire away! By the way Vortx, do a guy next. Or even better, a guy and a girl:-)

Dude!, thats really fuking good, I think Vortx should be proud, hey..... wasn't she white before?. Not that thats a problem.

You've got that tarnished steel look down nicely.

I'll leave the critiques to those who have something decent to offer

You did an awesome job with it, I think everyone would agree. It's definitely one of my favourites
One thing I'm not so sure of though, is that vehicle, kinda seems out of place. Detracts from the chick maybe ??? What does everyone else think ?
Great sky, great metal, pretty much good all round.
Nice stuff.

Oh yeah ... inspired by Vortx's wicked picture, I roughed out a chick yesterday at work when I got bored, I'll post it tonight sometime and I'd honoured if you'd do your stuff on it
Not to mention Spooge, damn he's good

Here it is at the moment. As I said very rough. I'm thinking either a wicked sword in her right hand or a big mutha of a gun, something that in real life no-one could actually pick up. Any ideas???

That is great man. I love the background, it adds so much to the picture. It more or less "completes" the picture. I think that when people leave out backgrounds they're forgetting an important part of the picture. It adds so much, context, feeling, emotion, and even a story to the picture.

One thing that i noticed was the "glow" on the sword, i dont' know if thats what it is supposed to be, but it looked funky to me.

cool pic man. I showed this to my girlfriend last night.....she dug it too =)

One quick comment...that purple light seems a bit strong....it's taking her out of her surroundings. Tho it adds a lot to the pic..

I suck at coloring....so i'll just stay back and enjoy the pic =)

Thank you all so much for the replys. A sensitive artist can only take so much silence:-) To answer your questions: garthmidgley: Yes the vehicle doesn't fit the Xena? type style of the Lady. But It was all I came up with. I'll put more thought into it in the future. Perhaps a organic mode of travel (Lizard or Dragon)would be more appropriate...hmmmm? I'll comment if you like but you'll obviously learn lightyears more from spooge. I've got a lot more learning to do before I even come close to that:-) Lukias: I don't know what ethnicity she was. Vortx? Actually I assumed she was asian but thought it would be an interesting study to make her black. Besides I'm married to a Black chick:-) Vortx: Agreed, the purple light is definitely way too strong. Its actually a bad habit from my graphic novel days. I'm worse at color theory than you, trust me:-) Other than that thanks oh so much for the comments. Vortx, as soon as you do the guy I'll do a scene.

The orange lighting makes it look Heavy Metal FAKKish. Sweet dimensionality to the armor... it really stands apart from the skin.

Ah! haha! I just noticed the foot prints... I thought that was a rover, not a transport Massive.

A rover? Heh. At first glance, I thought it was a tractor. And what with the barren fields she's standing on, I was thinking "Why the hell is this chick with a sword hanging out on a farm?!?!?!"

In any case, the sense of scale seems a bit off to me. Her footprints get tiny really fast, but her shadow stays big... and the transport looks like it would come up to about her waist if it was right next to her (it doesn't look like there's much ground between them.)

I really like the chick though. You did an incredible job coloring it, and I really like all the extra detail you added that wasn't in the original sketch.

Waylon, yes I admit that the character and background don't match in the least. Perhaps if I remove the tractor/rover with another more appropriate vehicle it might work. Maybe I'll do another background for this character; something more regal or Xenaish. And thanks for the comments on the coloring on the Girl. Personally I think that the background works but the girl doesn't. Either way, it was a blast to get into coloring via photoshop and painter. It's been a while since I've done it:-)

Hey dreddog that is one f-ing cool pic man. I like how you put your own twist on the color scheme. The background is very cool and she does look right out of a sci fi movie...good work!
