If you have access to any 3d software, it is easy to set up a simple block model to help visualize your perspective. You can use a printed rendering as an underlay for your drawing.

Inspector, you're right about multiple vanishing points, although it doesn't seem right that you would be looking flat accross the roof of that (100 ft tall?) building from ground level.

Try "Sculpy", available in most art supply stores, it holds a good amount of detail and hardens in your home oven.

I stumbled upon this while looking for satelite photos. Kite photography shows aerial views, but with much more detail and color than a satelite.
