personaly i really don't like the term, "don't flick ash" because the word 'flick' implies intention. As in, you intentionally flicked the ash on the comic rather than accidently get it on there.

better quality pencils most DEFINATELY make a difference, and unfortunately they are more expensive.

After all, you can't really do exceptional work with cruddy tools.
