i found a thread about a guy talking about 'paint along with fred' and he posted he attempt to the exercice, but i didn't found the exercice wich is supposed to teach how to shade a cube.

i have not enough experience on painting (i'm learning)
i'm drawing right now. and i think if i master drawing (with tones etc....)

grabd the loomis books, you will find chapter on it figure or head
but also practice, i'm doing this chapter now and it requires patience.
Lommis say that's it's a major jump and many student can't ...
