That depends - if you just want the second monitor to hold your tool palette, then yes it really doesn't matter.

A 16MB card would do, but personally, I wouldn't go lower than 32MB these days.

Actually the only problem with the ATI Radeon 8500DV is that it doesn't support dual display. I had to take mine back and get a regular Radeon 8500.
