I definitely prefer the 2nd. The first looks to smooth... too sissy fairy storyish.

I like the bold lines and high contrast.

well, to be honest, these designs are used for a variety of things.... tshirts and such and there are usually several versions.... there is a 'vanilla' version of this too.

damned good.

i think eventually you will want to blend those brush strokes. The 'painterly' effect is not bad in itself, but in a face with skin like this... well, you could get away with chiseling ...
